Horizon Support Services, Inc. provides person-centered Community Development Services to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities build greater independence, develop meaningful relationships, and become active members of their communities. Services are guided by each participant’s Person-Centered Plan and reflect their individual strengths, interests, preferences, choices, and goals.
Our Community Development Services provide opportunities for participants to develop and strengthen social and communication skills, self-advocacy, community navigation, relationship-building, and skills that support greater independence. Participants may engage in community events, volunteer opportunities, recreational activities, travel training, self-advocacy activities, and experiences that support personal growth and future employment goals.
Horizon Support Services, Inc. believes that community participation should be meaningful and personal to each individual. Our trained staff support participants in exploring their interests, making choices, building natural relationships, discovering community resources, and developing the confidence to participate more independently in everyday community life. Our goal is to help each participant not to simply access the community, but belong, contribute, and thrive within it.
